If you are in the Asheville area Annie B’s Homemade Ice Cream is worth the detour, and not simply because they make incredibly good ice cream. The story behind this little shop is really what makes it special. Pete and Betsy Brewer opened Annie B’s with their daughter Annie in mind. Annie has autism, and as she approached adulthood they began thinking about something most of us probably don’t give much thought to: meaningful work. A place to belong. A chance to contribute, learn, earn a paycheck and have people depend on you. So they built one. Annie B’s opened in 2022 with a mission to provide meaningful employment opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Their philosophy is wonderfully simple: people may be uniquely different, but they are equally valuable. I like that. Of course, a noble mission will get you through the door once. Really good ice cream is what gets you through the door again. And thankfully, Annie B’s has that part thoroughly sorted. We got an ice cream flight. Each flavor was delicious, high quality, and the staff was so friendly and helpful! I also love their mission of providing jobs for disabled adults. We will definitely be back!

This is it for the best Ice Cream in the Asheville area! The staff was courteous, informative and knows Ice cream for sure. They even took the time to describe the different flavors and combinations. I had an Ice Cream Sandwich with my choice of ice cream. I can't say enough about this place. Found it for desert after I ate dinner a couple miles away at Biltmore Square. So if you're near there, drive on down and have the best in town.

Very good! We thought it was going to be busy because there were a lot of people out in the front, however when we went inside it was very calm! They dont have cookies dough toppings , but edible cookie dough from the freezer. Overall great place for the family and inexpensive!

Delicious ice creams and super friendly service! I was really happy to see a flight option because I usually have a hard time picking just one flavor and this allowed me to try several. The key lime was my favorite - tart and refreshing! The owner chatted with my friend and me, and he even let us try a promising new flavor he’s working on. There’s a lot to like here: the mission of this shop, the tasty flavors, the fun menu, great service… I’ll definitely recommend this place to others.
